Reviews from residents across Penang Island, covering all three service types.
"The kitchen tap had been dripping for about two weeks. Suresh arrived the next morning and had it done in under an hour. He showed me the old cartridge, explained why it had worn out, and ran the tap for a good ten minutes before leaving. I was expecting it to cost more than RM 235 honestly."
"Toilet had been running non-stop for about three days. Booked through the website on Tuesday, got a slot on Thursday. Lim Wei Keat came, replaced the fill valve and flapper, flushed it a few times, and it's been quiet since. Scheduling took a day longer than I hoped but the work itself was clean and efficient."
"Had a section of kitchen pipe replaced. Ahmad Fadzil talked through exactly what he planned to open before touching anything. The pressure reading was shown to me before the wall was plastered over. Price was RM 1,420 as advertised. No surprises, no add-ons. That's all I wanted."
"Bathroom basin tap was dripping at night and keeping me awake. Booked Monday, technician came Wednesday. He was polite, wore shoe covers without being asked, and cleaned up before leaving. The drip is gone. For RM 235 with no hidden costs, I have no complaints at all."
"Second time I've used Damai Tap. First time was for a dripping tap two years ago, this time for the toilet cistern which was refilling very slowly. Each time the job was done properly. The only thing I'd mention is that they could perhaps send a message when the technician is on the way."
"Had low water pressure in the bathroom for about a month. Ahmad Fadzil did a section repipe along the bathroom run and the pressure is now noticeably better. The wall patch isn't perfectly smooth — I'll get a painter to finish it — but the plumbing work itself is solid and the pressure test reading gave me confidence."
Two jobs in detail
A closer look at how specific repair visits played out from first contact to sign-off.
Challenge
A kitchen mixer tap had been dripping from the spout even when fully closed. The resident had tightened the handle repeatedly, which had no effect. Water was collecting in the sink overnight and the sound was audible from the adjacent room.
What Was Done
The technician identified a worn ceramic cartridge — common in this model of tap after five or more years. The cartridge was replaced with a compatible unit from van stock. Both hot and cold lines were run and tested before the tap was signed off as complete. Visit duration: 55 minutes.
Outcome
Drip fully resolved. No recurrence reported in the 6 weeks since the visit. Resident noted the water flow on both sides felt slightly stronger than before the repair — likely because the old cartridge had been partially restricting flow as it degraded.
Challenge
Damp was appearing on the kitchen wall near the sink unit. The owner had noticed it spreading over about three weeks. The wall had been repainted twice in two years and the damp kept returning. A leaking pipe inside the wall was suspected.
What Was Done
The scope was agreed before any opening: one 1.2-metre kitchen wall section containing the cold feed line. The wall was opened at two points, the leaking galvanised segment was found and removed, new CPVC pipe was run and joined, and the wall was sealed with cement and skim. Pressure test: 5.2 bar steady for 30 minutes.
Outcome
Leak resolved. Wall patched and primed. Owner painted over the patch a week later with no reappearance of damp at the 4-week follow-up. Total visit time: approximately 4 hours. Final invoice: RM 1,420 as quoted.
